Chin Filler

Even when using the same product and performing the same procedure,
some people end up looking unnaturally sharp,
while others look naturally refined and balanced.

Why does this difference occur?

The key factors are not the amount, but rather the
design, injection depth (layer), and angle.

In this article, I’ll walk you through the before-and-after flow and
summarize the questions I’m most frequently asked :)

1. When will I start seeing results?

IMG_3227.jpeg

Immediately after the injection, you can already see changes in the lower jawline.

However, mild swelling and water redistribution continue for 3–5 days,
and the contour typically stabilizes at around 2 weeks.

This occurs because the viscoelasticity (G’, G’’) of hyaluronic acid (HA)
adapts to body temperature and pressure,
solidifying its shape through a rheology process.

2. Would chin (retruded chin) filler suit me as well?

By checking the lateral view against Rickett’s E-line,
you can determine where the lips and chin tip are positioned.

If the chin sits behind the E-line,
or if the mandible angle (jaw angle) is small and
the lower face appears short,

these cases tend to have very high satisfaction with treatment.

Additionally, in “no-chin type” double chin,
even if there isn’t much fat,
simply correcting the angle can significantly improve the contour.

3. Which areas are designed, and how?

For the chin, simply lengthening the tip can make it look

pointy or artificial.

✔ Deep structural support (near the periosteum)

Reinforce the central projection vector of the chin
and add a small amount of downward length in controlled increments.

✔ Angle reinforcement

By supporting the posterior portion,
the side profile becomes more defined
and the appearance of a double chin is reduced.

✔ Smoothing folds and grooves

  • Mental crease

  • Marionette line

By lightly correcting these shallow depressions,
the skin creasing that appears during facial expressions is reduced.

Injection Techniques

  • Deep periosteal bolus: building the axis from a deep plane

  • Retrograde linear threading: injecting evenly while withdrawing

  • Fan technique: spreading in a fan shape to maintain continuous lines

Avoid placing a large amount in a single point;
the rule of thumb is to use micro-aliquots to reduce compression risk.

4. What about the product type, volume, and injection depth?

For building the structural axis,
a filler with medium to high G’ (elasticity)—which better maintains shape—
is the most suitable.

A slightly softer type is more suitable
for refining fine lines and boundary transitions.

The required volume varies from person to person,
but in many cases we begin with a conservative first session,
then add small touch-ups as needed.

Injecting too much at once can cause
pressure-related vascular compromise
or create an “alien-like,” overly pointed chin shape.

5. Does the design differ between men and women?

제목을_입력해주세요._-_2025-11-02T140858.377.png

✔ Men

Instead of creating sharp focal points,
a design that emphasizes width and three-dimensionality
appears more natural.

✔ Women

Maintaining a soft, elliptical curve
while avoiding an overly sharp V-shape
gives a more refined look.

Ultimately, the ideal design is determined by evaluating
the overall facial proportions — including the forehead, nose, lips, and lower face balance.

Safety Points

The chin area rarely experiences major arterial complications,
but overfilling or injecting with excessive pressure
can increase the risk of ischemia.

For the first 48 hours after treatment, avoid:

  • Sauna / steam rooms

  • Strong facial massage

  • Heavy drinking

Even if you notice asymmetry or slight sharpness early on,
it is safer to consult your doctor for an adjustment plan
rather than adding more filler immediately.

Chin Filler Summary

Seoul (Retruded) Chin Filler Review|Profile Correction, Double-Chin Injection & Lower Jawline Design

The key to chin filler is
not just extending the tip,
but adjusting the angle and crease lines in 3D
for a balanced lower-face design.

제목을_입력해주세요._-_2025-10-22T162745.783.png

By adjusting the axis → angle → crease
in this order, based on lower-face proportions and the E-line,
both the appearance of a protruding profile and a double chin
can be improved simultaneously.

I hope this information is helpful :)
