Botox is widely accepted today by people of all ages, regardless of gender, as a treatment that can prevent wrinkles and reduce the appearance of already deep ones.
Even those whose wrinkles are not yet visible often undergo the treatment for preventive purposes, making it an extremely popular procedure. However, prices vary widely, and many people are unsure what criteria to use when choosing a clinic.
In this post, I’d like to talk about three key criteria for choosing a clinic that’s skilled in administering Botox.
-
Reasonable Pricing: Expensive doesn’t always mean better
Many people mistakenly believe that “premium products = better results,” but just because something is expensive doesn’t necessarily mean it’s more effective.
For example, imported products like Xeomin or Allergan tend to be more expensive, but domestically produced options like Coretox have also shown sufficient effectiveness.

One study compared Xeomin, Coretox, and Allergan, and found that Coretox actually had a longer duration of effect.
Of course, since Xeomin and Coretox are newer products, there is more data available on them, including considerations such as the risk of antibody resistance.
However, if you're focused on "cost performance," it’s best to avoid unnecessary expenses and use the appropriate amount at a fair price based on your individual condition.
In the past, some clinics would overly dilute Botox to compete on price, but nowadays, such practices are rare.
-
Number of Injections and Anatomical Approach

Botox is not a treatment that can resolve all wrinkles with a single injection.
The number of injections and the required dosage vary depending on the area, so it’s essential to set these precisely.
For example, improving forehead wrinkles generally requires about 6 to 10 injections, and the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) need at least 4 injections due to the length of the muscle in that area.
If these anatomical principles are ignored and only a minimal or uniform number of injections are administered, the effect may not be evenly distributed, resulting in inconsistent outcomes.
Since areas like the eyes, between the eyebrows, and forehead differ in depth and muscle size, it’s crucial to inject with a solid understanding of facial anatomy.
-
Proper Treatment Intervals and Ongoing Management

Botox is not a one-time treatment—it requires regular maintenance and proper treatment intervals.
For areas like the forehead, glabella (between the eyebrows), and around the eyes, treatments are generally recommended every 2 to 3 months. In contrast, areas like the jawline or cheekbones can maintain their effect with intervals of 6 months or more.
If Botox is administered too frequently, it may cause facial asymmetry or muscle atrophy, so it's essential to determine the number of sessions and intervals with care.
Rather than receiving multiple injections over a short period, it’s safer to choose a clinic that can provide a well-planned injection schedule with appropriate intervals.
Management and Side Effects

After receiving a Botox treatment, it’s important to follow certain precautions.
For the first 4 hours after the injection, avoid lying down or resting face-down.
For 1 to 2 days after the procedure, refrain from exercising, using saunas, or rubbing or massaging your face too firmly.
Additionally, it’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by the clinic.
Possible side effects include redness, mild bruising, or slight pain at the injection site, but these symptoms typically resolve naturally within a few days.
However, in rare cases, side effects such as facial asymmetry or drooping eyelids may occur. If you notice anything unusual, consult the clinic immediately.
Why Korean Aesthetic Clinics Excel at Botox Treatments

As mentioned above, having the right combination of reasonable pricing, precise injection techniques, and accurate guidance, along with experience and skill based on anatomical knowledge, is crucial.
Ideally, consultations and treatments should be performed one-on-one by a doctor—not by a counselor.
I hope this information is helpful for anyone considering Botox treatment.
