In the previous article, we provided a general overview of minor cosmetic procedures suitable for both men and women.

This time, we will focus on a specific area—the forehead—and explain how the differences in male and female facial features, which we discussed in the previous article, are actually reflected in treatment procedures.

Differences between male and female foreheads

When we talk about the differences between men and women, it is not to reinforce stereotypes such as “men should be this way” or “women should be that way.”

Whether the goal is to achieve a cute, feminine forehead or a strong, masculine one,

Creating a natural design that suits each individual requires more than simply filling in depressions—it calls for a proper understanding of aesthetic plastic surgery.

While male foreheads tend to be broad and straight, female foreheads are generally rounder in the center and narrower with an oval shape.

In particular, men often have a more prominent supraorbital ridge—the bone just above the eyebrows—which contributes to a stronger, more defined appearance.

Therefore, when performing forehead filler procedures on men, it is not advisable to fill in the area between the brow bones just because there is a depression.

(On the other hand, for women, if there is a central depression, it should be rounded out to create a smoother contour.)

Forehead Filler Case Review

*Please note: There is a risk of side effects such as infection, bleeding, swelling, or vascular complications.

This patient is female but had a prominent brow ridge and a relatively straight forehead.

She visited our clinic seeking a cuter and more feminine appearance.

Since the depression was not very deep, 3cc of filler was used. The overall contour was rounded, and the protruding brow ridge was softened, resulting in a more feminine impression (right).

In this case, the patient had more noticeable depressions on the sides of the forehead rather than in the center.

When treating such cases, using an excessive amount of filler can cause the forehead to widen laterally, resulting in a more masculine appearance. Therefore, only 2cc was used.

The center was left untouched, and only the sides were naturally contoured.

This patient appeared to have a sloping forehead due to a receding hairline and an overall lack of volume.

As the visible surface area seemed large, 5cc of filler was injected.

By injecting the filler evenly, the sloped appearance of the forehead was corrected, and interestingly, the forehead appears visually narrower after the procedure.

Lastly, we present a male case.

This handsome patient had a strong, masculine appearance but was concerned about his narrow and wrinkled forehead.

He had prominent depressions on both sides, making the forehead appear narrower, so 3cc of filler was used.

Filler was injected only into the sides, leaving the center and the area above the brow ridge untouched, in order to emphasize the natural prominence of the brow bones.

This case demonstrates how a straight contour and overall volume enhancement can achieve a masculine forehead while also improving the appearance of wrinkles.

Side Effects of Forehead Fillers

Many people may be concerned about the long-term effects of fillers.

When injected excessively, fillers can gradually shift downward over time, causing the central area of the forehead to bulge unnaturally.

Practitioners should aim for results that are safe and natural, even if it takes more time.

Since the appropriate volume varies for each patient, it’s important to avoid over-injection.

(Note: Forehead filler procedures are technically challenging and time-consuming, so some clinics may recommend excessive injections for profit-driven reasons.)

Additionally, there are blood vessels in the forehead that lead to the eyes. If filler enters or compresses these vessels, it can cause skin necrosis—or in the worst-case scenario, even blindness.

Therefore, forehead filler procedures should only be performed by highly skilled practitioners, and we strongly recommend choosing a trustworthy clinic with expertise in forehead fillers.

✅ 3-Point Summary

  • Simply filling in depressions without a proper understanding of aesthetic surgery can result in an unnatural appearance.

  • It’s essential to understand the characteristics of male and female foreheads and design the treatment based on the patient’s desired outcome.

  • To prevent side effects, it’s crucial that an experienced practitioner uses the appropriate amount of filler safely.

That concludes our overview of the differences between male and female foreheads and actual treatment cases.

We hope this information proves helpful to as many people as possible.

If you have any questions about the procedure, feel free to leave a “like” or comment 😊

Thank you very much!
