I have written mostly about specialized topics until now, but today, I would like to shift the focus and talk about "skin diagnostic machines" used in dermatology clinics.

Some people may wonder why skin diagnostic machines are necessary.

However, I believe that "treatments without using skin diagnostic machines are simply not acceptable."

Today, I will explain the reasons behind this in detail!

📌 1. Why You Should Use Skin Diagnostic Machines – Learnings from Personal Experience

Before opening my own dermatology clinic, I had experienced "out-of-pocket laser treatments" at a well-known clinic in Gangnam.

✔ Concerned about skin redness and spots, I underwent laser treatment.
✔ Signed up for an expensive treatment package.
✔ Realized that photos before the treatment were not taken.

At that moment, I thought to myself,
“Why don’t they provide before-and-after photos to compare the results?”

If I were the patient, I would definitely feel uneasy if I couldn't see the changes after the treatment.

From this experience, I realized the importance of "keeping records of the treatments."

So, after opening my own clinic, I started taking photos of my patients with a DSLR camera.

📌 2. But Photography Alone Was Not Enough...

While using a DSLR camera for documentation was a good idea, there were several significant issues:

✔ The results could change depending on the shooting environment (lighting, angle, background, hairstyle, etc.).
✔ It was difficult to make accurate comparisons due to color variations and shadows.
✔ Detailed skin conditions (spots, pores, moisture levels, etc.) could not be recorded in numerical values.

For these reasons, I decided to introduce "skin diagnostic machines" for more accurate comparisons.

📌 3. What Are "Mark-Vu" and "Janus"?
Currently, two of the most commonly used skin diagnostic machines in many dermatology clinics are Mark-Vu and Janus PRO.

These two devices are equipped with:

✔ High-resolution cameras
✔ Multiple light sources (UV, LED, and polarized light)

This system allows for detailed documentation of the skin's condition.

Furthermore, skin diagnostic machines can:

✔ Analyze conditions like pigmentation, redness, and pore size
✔ Measure the balance of moisture and oil levels
✔ Assess skin tone and elasticity
✔ Evaluate facial symmetry and volume

These features are valuable as they provide a comprehensive report on the skin's condition.

📌 4. Advanced 3D Diagnostic Machines – "Metaview" and "Vectra"

While "Mark-Vu" and "Janus" are commonly used in dermatology, "Metaview" and "Vectra" are advanced 3D diagnostic machines used in aesthetic clinics and those performing procedures like liposuction.

✔ 3D scanning allows for accurate measurement of facial area and angles
✔ Analyzes changes in the face shape and fat distribution in a three-dimensional view
✔ Enables simulation of results before and after surgery

Especially in cases like facelift and liposuction, 3D data is essential.

📌 5. Why Many Dermatology Clinics Don’t Use Skin Diagnostic Machines You might wonder, "If these machines are so useful, why aren’t they used in all clinics?"

In fact, there are three main reasons why skin diagnostic machines are not widely adopted.

그림7.jpg

(1) Counseling Takes Time
✔ Capture images using diagnostic machines → Upload data → Compare before and after the treatment
✔ Performing this every time can be a burden for busy doctors.

(2) 100% Effectiveness is Not Guaranteed
✔ Not all treatments yield perfect results.
✔ Some doctors worry that if the results are worse than expected, it could lead to patient dissatisfaction.

(3) Clinics that Are Successful Without Diagnostic Machines
✔ Popular clinics that rely on reviews and their skills to attract customers may not feel the need to adopt such machines.

📌 6. Why I Still Believe in the Need for Skin Diagnostic Machines

It’s true that implementing skin diagnostic machines can be time-consuming.

However, I believe they play a crucial role in building trust with patients.

📌 "Does this treatment really work?"
📌 "How much has it improved compared to before?"
📌 "Am I spending money on unnecessary treatments?"

By addressing these concerns and letting patients “see” the results, it leads to trust.

📌 Summary – Skin Diagnostic Machines as a "Tool to Connect Patients and Doctors"

✔ Dermatology clinics use "Mark-Vu" and "Janus" to accurately compare before and after treatments.
✔ In cosmetic surgery, "MetaView" and "Vectra" are used for 3D analysis.
✔ While implementing diagnostic machines is a hassle, it’s necessary for earning patient trust.

To clarify the answer, I believe it is important to utilize skin diagnostic machines and provide patients with accurate treatment results.

📌 In conclusion I hope this article serves as a reference for those who are unsure about choosing a dermatology clinic or have concerns about their treatments!

"Does this treatment really work?"

"Which clinic should I choose?"

If you have such questions, be sure to check if the clinic uses skin diagnostic machines.✨

Thank you for reading until the end!
